AAHEP operates a customised accreditation programme for vocational qualifications that are designed to develop professional practice and competency. When we accredit a course, we assign it an equivalent Level comparable to those listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) for England and Wales.

In defining its minimum Standards of Training requirements for each level AAHEP is setting clear expectations of training providers. Where possible AAHEP seeks to adopt a pragmatic and flexible approach, and to take into account the diversity of approach to professional and vocational practice in providing human learning and therapeutic benefit alongside animals and the wider nature-based environment.
